Creating Communities

by Ed Tsunoda on October 24, 2007

You have a great idea or great content or both, but what do you do with it? How do you reach people? You only need to construct an audience for it. The best way to do that is through building virtual communities.

Successful Internet businesses start by building communities that thrive via the interaction of the communities’ members. Look at the legends of the Internet. AOL, Yahoo, Google, eBay, Amazon…everyone of them built by building brands, via building a community based on user participation and interaction.

It’s the Internet. It’s not a static media. It is motion, and sound, and animation, and most of all interaction. It is an exchange of thoughts and ideas between not just you and your constituents, but between people within those constituencies. It’s interactivity is what seperates it from other media. Use it.
